The Jay’ek are a nation composed of three separate united Tribes: the Wolf, the Bear, and the Turtle. While they have their differences, the Jay’ek do share some major commonalities. They are a matriarchal society structured off of small family based clans; they rely on their spiritual leaders, the Kashina, to mediate disputes; and they all live a fairly nomadic life within their established territories. Overall the Jay’ek are a very proud race that don’t back down from challenges. Outside of these major commonalities each tribe is known for distinct behaviors they emphasize.
The Wolf Tribe emphasizes the ability to take what you need to survive, even if it is from others, but never from others in the pack.
The Bear Tribe emphasizes the art of physical intimidation and fights to settle disputes; however, they make sure that no deaths occur in such events.
The Turtle Tribe emphasizes self defense, vigilance, and observation as important skills; unfortunately, it has been noted that they share this belief with many subversive organizations.
Of the Galifian nations the Jay’ek have had the most troubles adjusting to life back in Terra. Between the murder of one of their spiritual leaders, the Wolf Chieftain stepping down, the systematic destruction of a smaller clan, and the endless battles it goes without saying that the Jay’ek are not on good terms with the Runan Empire. In response to these atrocities the Jay’ek started the Dezba Alliance as a way to unite others to their cause to fight back against the Runan advance. The Dezba Alliance is largely known in Runa as just simply “The Rebels.”
General Population Distribution: (what headers are in the culture and in what numbers)
60% Fighters, 30% Mages, 10% Subversive
(Inspiration for the Jay’ek is pulled from the Native Americans and Aztecs; however, it is important to note that Jay’ek is not identical to these cultures and has many unique flairs)
