Sending Letters
« on: June 02, 2015, 07:31:54 pm »
In the world of Terra, a mysterious order of letter carries called Red Caps deliver your messages across the many realms of our world, right to the hands of your recipients, with unparalleled speed and precision.

The Red Caps have partnered with us to bring you their services through this convenient forum interface!

As a limited-time offer as thanks for participating in the forum, the Red Caps have established FREE MESSAGING between any citizen in good standing of the Law in the town of Whitewood who registers as a user of the forum! To use this service to send in-game messages, include "[[IG]]" in your subject line! A representative of the Red Cap Delivery Service will take your message to the townsperson, regardless of distance! This offer applies only to the Adventurers Wanted Tavern Forum. Letters handed to a Red Cap in person will be subject to the usual fee.

If you would like to send a letter to someone outside of the town of Whitewood, simply message the account Red Cap Delivery Service with the subject line "[[IG]] To: (character name)". This applies as well to local citizens who have not registered as forum users; for example, Chef Frank, who is a citizen of Whitewood but refuses to register as a forum user because (and we quote): "it doesn't have enough chest hair."

Sending a letter in this way will cost the standard fee of 2 copper, which will be deducted from your account. In the future, we hope to automate this payment process.

Anyone abusing this privilege to excessively send unsolicited mass mail to other players or through the Red Cap Delivery Service will have their messaging rights revoked, and will face the Red Cap Council for further judgement.

NB: The messaging service on the website is still functional. This service works exactly the same as the website form that you're used to. We think this will be more convenient and a little easier to use than the website form, and we encourage you to try it out! You can still use the website to submit your between-game letters if you prefer. They all go to the same place and your message will not be lost.

NB: In case it wasn't clear, please use either the website or the Red Cap Delivery Service to send letters to staff NPCs. You can send in-game messages to other players for free whenever you want.

NB: Please use this service for all private in-game communication between player characters, such as deal brokering, arguments, love letters, assassination planning, etc. Chit-chat is okay elsewhere, but if it's a communication that is important to your character, your plot, or your plans for coming events, please do it here. We think it's cool and immersive. It also helps us prevent metagaming. (Please do not take this last statement as an accusation.)
