Charity Event: Legends Legacy, Death's Gate War!
« on: June 04, 2015, 10:36:31 am »
On JUNE 12-13, Legends Legacy in Massachussets will be hosting a 1-shot charity larp event!

The following message is from one of the staffers running the event:
Quote
Hi everyone,
My name is Mark. I am the owner of a LARP in Massachusetts that some of you actually have attended over the years called Legends. I am writing today to tell you about my friend Jeff Hoyland.
Jeff has fought and survived neck and throat cancer not once but twice. Unfortunately, this second time has been much worse then the first. There has been several "touch and go" moments, that even his unwavering faith that he would get through this, it was questionable he would survive.
When Jeff was diagnosed this second time he started two initiatives in his life, the first was medical, he created files on he and his family to give to his medical care takers at the hospital, and asked them for the same information, to make him, and the staff helping him more human to each other. This has had a magical effect on a lot of his caretakers.
The camp we hold events at, Camp Marshall in Spencer, MA, has graciously agreed to give us a weekend for us to hold a LARP fundraiser for the Hoyland family. On the weekend of June 13th, we will be holding our one day event and ALL proceeds go to the Hoyland Family.
I ask that you all consider coming up for the event and to support Jeff and his family during this rough times. Donation to play is $35. Donation to cast is $15. People who are not interested or cannot attend but still wish to help can make a donation to the GoFundMe campaign for the Hoyland Family, http://www.gofundme.com/l7wcws.
Thank you all for your attention and I hope to see many of you at Camp Marshall this June. :)

I encourage everyone to take a look at the website links for information on the event, character building, and the rules (which you'll find are very similar to AW's).
For a quick description, players at the event will get to build and play extremely powerful 600 cp characters (for a rough power-level equivalent, that translates to an AW character with well over 120 cp) with unique headers and skills.
Staffers will be helping to run a massive war between the player factions representing Death and those representing the Fallen Spirit Zjuna.
Several AW staffers, including myself, are planning on attending, and car-pooling can be worked out!
